The Festo EB Series Bellows Cylinder is an actuator or air suspension element designed for rough, dusty ambient conditions in the food and packaging industries. It offers high forces with a short stroke and provides uniform movement with no stick-flip effect. Single or double-bellow models are available in sizes ranging between 80 to 385mm and with up to 230mm stroke.

Bellows cylinders can be used both as driving and pneumatic spring components. They operate as a driving component when pressurization and exhaust functions are provided. As the stroke increases, the force generated is reduced in relation to the contractional force of the bellows. When bellows cylinders are supplied with permanent pressure, they act as a cushioning component. 

The simple design of the EB series consists of two metal connecting plates with rubber bellows attached. There are no sealing components and no moving mechanical parts. Bellows cylinders are single-acting drives that do not require spring returns, as the reset is instead achieved by applying external force.
