The Festo ELGS Series Spindle Axis Unit has a covered guide and loadable recirculating ball bearing guide, designed to perform simple linear movements and positioning tasks such as shifting and lifting. There are three sizes available with up to 800mm working stroke. It is part of the Simplified Motion Series, making it easy to configure and able to be put into operation directly without software. Instead, the ELGS offers two control types with digital I/O (DIO) and IO-Link as a standard. 

These integrated drives are the perfect solution for facilities looking for an electric alternative for simple movement and positioning tasks between two mechanical end positions. With the ELGS series, these tasks can be accomplished without the complex commissioning process of traditional electric drive systems. With the ELGS series, electronics such as the controller, control panel, and end position sensing are all integrated into the drive. The guide is also contained internally and protected from external influences.
