Description
The Festo EZH Series Flat Cylinder offers a compact, extremely flat design with a rectangular piston cross-section that protects the unit from rotation. It operates with compressed air according to ISO 8573-1:2010 with operation with oil lubrication possible. The EZH series may be configured with equivalent piston diameters ranging between 3.4 to 22.2mm and up to 50mm stroke length. A magnetic piston provides position sensing for proximity sensors and is included with the 22.2mm size.
The EZH series represents a compact combination of a linear guiding function and a pneumatic drive function. It reduces the center-to-center distance of adjacent cylinders by approximately 40%, compared to round cylinders. This is ideal for maximizing space in compact systems.
When proximity sensing is included, a permanent magnet on the cylinder piston provides a magnetic field that actuates reed-type proximity switches. One or more proximity switches can be clamped in the longitudinal dovetail groove. These switches permit contactless sensing of the end or intermediate positions of the cylinder.
