The Festo FVS Series Whisker Valve has extremely low actuation forces, making it suitable for systems where uneven parts,  unaligned actuating elements, or deviations in actuation level need to be detected. The whisker can be approached from any direction perpendicular to the whisker axis, or it can be passed. The FVS series can be configured with normally open or closed valve functions and features durable anodized aluminum housing.

Mechanically actuated valves are often used for applications within smaller machines and conveyor systems, such as controlling simple clamping and locking processes in semi-automatic assembly and manufacturing. These valves do not require an electronic controller or programming and can be controlled and measured with sensors.
