The Festo HGDT Series Three-Point Gripper uses a force-guided triple wedge mechanism to translate linear motion into synchronous gripper jaw movement. They are available in standard and high-force variants with stroke lengths from 1.5 to 10 mm and gripping forces from 207 to 3372 N. The grippers can be used for both external and internal gripping, and have optional gripping force backup provided by compression springs. They feature a virtually backlash-free plain-bearing guide and can be equipped with proximity sensors to detect the piston position. The grippers are available in a range of sizes from 25 to 63 mm, with various mounting and air supply options.
