Description
The Moxa MGate MB3180/MB3280/MB3480 Series Ethernet Gateway host one, two and four ports, respectively, that convert between Modbus TCP, ASCII, and RTU communications protocols. Up to 16 simultaneous Modbus TCP masters are supported, with up to 31 RTU/ASCII slaves per serial port. For RTU/ASCII masters, up to 32 TCP slaves are supported. Serial port routing can be controlled by IP address, TCP port number, or ID mapping. Routing via TCP port and IP address allows access for up to 4 TCP clients/masters (MB3280/MB3480), whereas ID mapping provides access to as many as 16 TCP clients/masters (MB3180/MB3280/MB3480).
This gateway series can effectively connect a high density of Modbus nodes to the same network. The MB3280 can manage up to 62 serial slave nodes, the MB3480 can manage up to 124. Each RS-232/422/485 standard port can be configured individually for Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII operation, as well as different baudrates, permitting integration of both network types through one Modbus gateway. Moxa’s Auto-Device Routing function helps to streamline the normally extensive process of configuring numerous Modbus devices. It's takes a single mouse click to setup a slave ID with routing table, and configure Modbus gateways to automatically detect Modbus requests from a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system.
The MGate MB3180/MB3280/MB3480 Series provide streamlined functionality paired with a durable design. The metal housing is IP30 rated, has a 0 to 55°C standard operating temperature range (0 to 60°C for MB3280), and meets CE, FCC and cULus standards.
