Description
The Moxa NPort 5100A Series Serial Device Server is designed for quick and user-friendly network enablement of serial devices. The NPort 5100A Series can be used to provide PC-based software direct access to serial devices from anywhere in a network.
The NPort 5110A models host the MiiNe, a small but powerful Arm-based serial-to-Ethernet SoC with RAM and Flash embedded. With this inbuilt feature, power consumption drops below 1W. The series as whole offers a 50% reduction in average power consumption of similar models, allowing engineers to easily meet environmental compliance standards.
Moxa’s leading-edge surge immunity solution is applied to the NPort 5100A Series serial, power, and Ethernet lines, and complies with IEC 61000-4-5 standards. This 0.5kV serial surge protection shields against voltage spikes and helps to withstand electrically noisy environmental conditions.
The NPort 5100A Series features a streamlined 3-step web-based configuration tool, reducing the time to adjust settings and enable the application to an average of 30 seconds. This server series also supports SNMP, which can be used to monitor all units over Ethernet. Each unit can be configured to send trap messages automatically to the SNMP manager when user-defined errors are encountered, or an alert email can be sent out using Moxa's Windows utility or the web console during cold/warm starts, as well as a change in password.
All units are encased in compact metal housing with a standard operating temperature of 0 to 60°C (-40 to 75°C for -T), and meet CE, FCC, and cULus standards.
