Description
The Moxa NPort IA5000 Series Serial Device Server provides easy-to-configure, reliable serial-to-Ethernet connection for industrial automation applications. This server offers Ethernet connection to any serial device, with Real Com and TTY Drivers provided to ensure compatibility with existing systems. Port operation modes are various, including but not limited to TCP Server, TCP Client, and UDP. This makes the NPort IA5000 Series ideal for establishing network access to RS-232/422/485 serial devices such as PLCs, sensors, meters, motors, drives, barcode readers, and operator displays.
Each model hosts two 10/100BaseT(X) ports that can be used as Ethernet switch ports. One port connects directly to the network or server, and the other port can be connected to either another NPort IA device server or an Ethernet device. Redundant power inputs mean that simultaneous DC power sources can be connected, with the failure of one automatically prompting full take over by the second for nonstop service.
The inbuilt relay output can be used as part of an alert system including triggered-emails for problems with Ethernet links and power inputs, or when DCD or DSR signals change. These functions are valuable tools that enable maintenance engineers to react promptly to emergency situations.
All models come with compact, IP30 rated housing that is DIN-rail mountable. Standard units have an operating temperature range of 0 to 60°C, with hazardous area approvals.
