Description
The Moxa TCC-80 TS-232 to RS-422/485 Converter expands networking capability via complete signal conversion without the requirement of an external power source. This model supports half-duplex 2-wire RS-485 and full-duplex RS-422/485, both of which can be converted between RS-232's TxD and RxD lines. Automatic data direction control is provided for RS-485, with the RS-485 driver enabled automatically when the circuitry senses the TxD output from the RS-232 signal. This technology means that programming is not required to control the transmission direction of the RS-485 signal. The TCC-80's RS-232 port has a DB9 female socket that connects directly to a host PC, with power drawn via the TxD line (5 to 12VDC external power source compatible if necessary). Each unit features IP30 rated housing, and a 0 to 60°C operating temperature range.
