Description

The Moxa TCF-142 Series Serial-to-Fiber Converter id equipped with a multiple interface circuit that can handle RS-232 or RS-422/485 serial interfaces and multi-mode or single-mode fiber. This expands networking capability by extending serial transmission up to 5km with multi-mode configurated models, and up to 40km with single-mode. The TCF-142 Series cannot convert RS-232 and RS-422/485 signals simultaneously. 

This model can connect to other serial converters via Tx ports and DIP switch configuration, creating a fiber ring with a circumference up up to 100km. Automatic data direction control is provided for RS-485, eliminating the need to use the handshaking signal. Each unit features durable, IP30 rated metal housing with a 0 to 60°C operating temperature range and protections against chemical corrosion and electrical interference.
