Description

The SICK W4 Series Photoelectric Sensor design is notable for its miniature housing in slim, or flat designs, making it ideal for delivering precise data, in highly compact installation sites. This product family is built for detection of glossy, flat, uneven, perforated and transparent objects with a wide range of parameters. Available in proximity, retroreflective and through-beam sensor configurations, the W4 Series offers adjustment methods via potentiometer, cable, teach-turn and/or teach-in button.

Sensors that feature the integrated IO-Link interface further increase the versatility of the W4 Series. Sensors operate via PinPoint LED or Infrared laser. Sensing ranges are extensive, with a max range of 0 to 12m (with through-beam models only). Output options include NPN, or PNP, with light, dark, or light/dark switching.

Housing material options include VISTAL, Novodur, ABS or hygienic application approved stainless steel. Ingress Protection ratings include IP66 through IP69K, dependent on configuration. The versatile, compact enclosure offerings, paired with highly adjustable parameters and sensitivity, make the W4 well-suited to most industrial applications.
