Description

The SICK MPS-M Series Cylinder Sensor continuously detects the piston position in pneumatic drives, with positional data down to the micrometer via non-contact measuring. This product series is compatible with T-slot cylinders, providing quick and easy installation without the need for end-cap disassembly. The MPS-M does not require parameterization or teach-in adjustment when recording the piston position, taking measurements directly. Communication occurs via the analog interface and IO-Link. Up to 8 switching points with different switching modes can be configured. The actuator diagnosis function of the sensor utilizes performance data such as piston velocity, piston travel, or number of piston strokes, and magnetic field strengths. This aids in reduced system downtime of monitored machinery through the application of predictive maintenance of critical components.
