The SICK MZT8 ATEX Series Cylinder Sensor provides a hazardous area rated solution for piston position detection in pneumatic actuators. The sensor is easily installed into T-slot cylinders, with a simple drop-in mounting process. With the aid of an adapter, this series is also compatible with round/tie-rod, and profile cylinders, as well as cylinders with a dovetail groove. GMR technology and SICK's ASIC circuit ensures reliable delivery of precise switching data. Each unit comes in a durable enclosure with a IP67 rating. The NAMUR sensor configuration is rated for ATEX Category 1D, 1G, or for applications that are in a permanently explosive environment. The PNP configuration is rated for ATEX Category 3D, 3G, or areas with explosive potential, but much lower risk. These different tiers in environmental rating makes the MZT8 ATEX Series well suited for applications including silo hatches, elevators, conveyers and mills.
