The SICK CSS High Resolution Series Color Sensor is built to distinguish between fine color nuances, including color gradients, as well as detection of wood and other structured, heterogeneous materials. This series utilizes an LED light source with sensing distances of up to 500mm, with precise color detection even at varying distances and object sizes. A TFT full color sensor display shows L*a*b or RGB color values, as well as the similarities of detected vs taught-in colors. The CSS Series can accommodate as many as 24 colors per task, the results of which can be transferred via the optional IO-Link interface and saved externally (Modbus communication protocol also available). This sensor model also includes easy installation and set-up through the SOPAS software.
