Description
The SICK UC4 Series Ultrasonic Distance Sensor offers reliable, accurate contact-free detection up to 250mm in distance. This is accomplished by utilizing acoustic pulses which reflect off an object, also known as time-of-flight measuring. Ultrasonic technology permits distance measurement across various solid, powdered, and liquid materials, without limitations due to color, transparency, or ambient light. Switching frequencies up to 100Hz available for high speed processes. Teach-in buttons offer straight forward adjustments, with select variants configured with NPN, PNP or NPN/PNP outputs, or 4 to 20mA / 0 to 10V outputs. An IO-Link interface is also available for maximum adjustment versatility and remote monitoring. This series offers full mechanical compatibility to photoelectric sensors. All units come standard with a highly compact, durable enclosure built for tight installation sites. An operating temperature range of –25 to 70°C allows the UC4 sensors to withstand extreme and harsh environments.
Applications
- Detection of dark, shiny, and transparent materials
- Level control for fluid and bulk materials of every shape and color
- Diameter check for metal, paper, and plastic coils
- Continuous detection of fabrics and wire grids
- Detection of very fast objects
- Outdoor applications
