Description

The SICK UC40 Series Ultrasonic Distance Sensor is a plug and play design with reliable, contact-free detection up to 5m in distance. This is accomplished by utilizing acoustic pulses which reflect off an object, also known as time-of-flight measuring. Ultrasonic technology permits distance measurement across various solid, powdered, and liquid materials, without limitations due to color, transparency, or ambient light. Switching frequencies up to 10Hz are available, dependent on model. Teach-in buttons offer straight forward adjustments, with an IO-Link interface and push-pull NPN/PNP output for increased diagnostic ability and remote monitoring. Select variants offer 4 to 20mA / 0 to 10V analog outputs. All units come standard with a durable IP65 / IP67-rated enclosure, with a rotatable sensor head. These sensors offer quick and easy installation via a push-lock mounting concept. An operating temperature range of –25 to 70°C allows the UC40 sensors to withstand extreme and harsh environments.

Applications

• Distance measurement
• Positioning
• Presence detection
• Collision avoidance
• 2D / 3D area monitoring
• Filling level and bulk level control
