Description

The SICK DLS40 Series incremental encoder is a compact solution for measuring rotation speed and position. It is available with a solid shaft or blind hollow shaft, with a variety of mechanical and electrical interfaces. The DLS40 offer up to 1,024 pulses per revolution and enables speed and position measurements at up to 6,000 revolutions per minute. It is suitable for numerous automation systems and applications.

Models with a face mount flange have the flange integrated into the housing, offering a compact design that facilitates uncomplicated installation, especially in tight spaces. Despite the slim housing, the permissible shaft loading of 40N (radial) and 20N (axial) provides the high resistance required for many applications.

The DLS40 series is resilient and features mechanically adjustable locking threads, allowing it to withstand high shock and vibration loads of modern dynamic applications. This ensures that screws don’t loosen on their own. The housing also offers protection against electromagnetic interference, allowing it to be used in demanding applications.
