The SICK AFS/AFM60 SSI Series Encoder is a high-resolution device for measuring the absolute position in various machines and systems. This compact unit is available in single-turn or multi-turn designs with a maximum total resolution of up to 30 bits (AFM60), a large selection of programmable parameters, and good concentricity properties. It has a high enclosure rating up to IP67, which makes it ideal for industrial applications. A variant with stainless steel housing is available for applications in harsh environments.

The AFS/AFM60 SSI series comes standard with an SSI interface. The AFM60 is also available with combined SSI and incremental, and SSI and sin/cos interfaces. Some models can be programmed via a PGT-08-S PC-based programming device or a PGT-10-Pro hand-held programming device.
