Description
The Festo EPCC Series Electric Cylinder is a compact unit with a precise, quiet ball screw drive and fast position timing that is ideal for applications that require an efficient use of space. The drive element consists of an electrically driven spindle that converts the rotary motion of the mounted motor into a linear motion of the non-rotating piston rod. It also features a sealing air connection that allows air to be exchanged between the interior of the cylinder and the environment. This prevents negative or excess pressure from developing in the interior of the cylinder. The EPCC series is suitable for simple applications in factory automation and comes available in four compact sizes with a stroke range of up to 500mm.
Options are available to add a recirculating ball bearing with two guide rods, a female piston rod thread, or a wiper scraper variant. Adding a guide unit allows for more precise movements and protects the piston rod against rotation. The scraper variant adds a wiper to the piston rod to easily remove lightly adhering particles.
