Description
The Festo ERMS Series Rotary Drive Unit is a rotary actuator with robust ball bearings on the rotating plate that absorb transverse loads and torques while performing simple rotation and swivel tasks. The robust ball bearings on the rotating plate are backlash-free and offer precise movements, even with increased mechanical loads. The ERMS is available in two sizes and features a 90° or 180° swivel angle, a sealed hollow shaft for cables and tubing, and integrated end-position sensing.
The ERMS series is a product within the Simplified Motion Series. This series combines the simplicity of pneumatics with the advantages of electric automation. It features integrated drives for performing simple movement and positioning tasks between two mechanical end positions without the complex commissioning process of traditional electric drive systems. This system also allows the unit to be installed and used without an external servo drive or control cabinet. Two control options are integrated into the unit so that no additional software is needed: digital I/O and IO-Link. An adapter is also available with the unit to allow operation as an IO-Link device.
