Description
The SICK MPS-G Series Cylinder Sensor is a high-precision magnetic distance measuring system, with a range of 50mm. The sensor provides a position value as well as 2 or more switching points to differentiate between gripper and cylinder positions. The MPS-G offers positional data down to the micrometer, and is readily installed in C-slots, or T-slots with an adapter. Configurations available include an analog sensor with voltage output, or an IO-Link sensor, with three configurable digital outputs. The advanced diagnostic data the MPS-G generates includes both process and actuator focused data. Process diagnostics center around vibration analysis, temperature measurement and orientation monitoring. Actuator diagnosis data for the MPS-G Series includes piston velocity, cylinder stroke and magnetic field strengths, which aids in reduced system downtime through the application of predictive maintenance of critical components.
