Description

The Festo ELGA Series Spindle Axis has an internal, precision ball bearing guide with high load capacity for high torque loads. It can reach speeds up to 2m/s with high acceleration of up to 15m/s² and meets the highest feed force and accuracy requirements. With its precision, durability, and accuracy the ELGA series makes positioning in challenging conditions incredibly efficient at strokes up to 3,000mm. It features a stainless steel cover strip with a magnetic seal to provide basic protection to the guide and spindle. This also makes it possible to reduce particulate emissions when used in clean environments.

Custom variants of the ELGA series may be configured with options such as an additional slide, protection against particles, and the inclusion of a displacement encoder. The optional magnetic reversal in the slide guides the stainless steel cover strip through the slide and back onto the profile. The magnets ensure no friction is visible on the surface of the cover strip. The position of the slide can be sensed directly when using an incremental displacement encoder. This allows for all elasticities of the drive train to be detected and for adjustments to be made by the motor controller.
